If you live at a distance from our innovative programs but want to build your communication skills, or if you seek more opportunities to communicate directly from your home with other people with aphasia, our Virtual Aphasia Groups can help. Our weekly groups:
- strengthen your communication skills and give you practice with speaking
- address the challenges of living with aphasia
- introduce you to others with aphasia by providing you with an online community for support
- restore your self-esteem
Virtual Aphasia Group participants report improvement in communication skills, self-esteem and quality of life as a result of their participation.
You must own your own computer (including a working camera and microphone) OR own a tablet such as an iPad
You must be able to join a session from home on your own or with help from family, a friend or a caregiver
An Adler Aphasia Center facilitator will provide you with instructions on how to log in. We offer weekly sessions for one hour on either Mondays or Thursdays from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. These sessions are currently ongoing but you can join at any time. You can sign up to chat for as many sessions as you would like per month. You do not need to be a member of the Adler Aphasia Center to participate.
